Nandina domestica

Heavenly bamboo

Despite its common name, "heavenly bamboo" is not a bamboo at all.  It is an upright, evergreen shrub native to Japan and China.  Foliage is green throughout the summer, turning red in the winter. New growth in spring is red-tinged, and white flowers appear in mid-summer.  This variety bears brilliant red berries in the late fall, which remain through winter.  Some varieties have white berries, and some no berries at all (for example, Moonglow).
